Peter is the driving force behind Astute Wilson, with over 20 years experience in finance and lending. Peter worked for two large financial institutions before starting up his own successful business Pinnacle Finance Brokers 11 years ago.
With exceptional knowledge of loan structuring, Peter always ensures his clients receive the most competitive loan packages available. In the past, Peter has been named a finalist in the 2002 and 2004 Australian Mortgage Awards for Sales Person of Year and Independent Broker of Year, and in 2006 took home the prestigious MFAA Finance Broker of the Year Award. In 2012 Peter was also named Business Operator of the Year at the Astute Recognising Excellence Awards.
Peter is continually receiving recognition for the quality of his work and understands that everybody’s circumstances are different, which is why he has been so successful in the past with all business coming via referrals from his large existing client base.
Peter more recently has diversified his business into not only home, commercial and vehicle finance but financial planning where he has two highly succesful financial planners assisting clients with superannuation, risk and planning advice.
This is the fifth time we’ve worked with the Astute team to secure a loan. It’s always a delight working with the team on our finance arrangements. To a person, the team is knowledgeable, fast and professional which minimises and stress for us when we’re setting up a new loan. Towards the end of our working life, we realised we were not really prepared for retirement and all that meant. I had never purchased or financed a new car before so the whole process was new to me, David was extremely knowledgeable in putting forward multiple options that were most suitable to my finances. He was also extremely diligent in follow up to make sure I had everything I needed or if had any questions. During the financing process of the car, David went over and above what was required to ensure I had the best deal and made it prevalent that he genuinely cares for his clients. I would recommend anyone to David for the transparent client focused service and he is also just a good down to earth bloke.

June 2021 – I wanted to take a moment to try and put into words, my amazing time and experience with Josie.
This was the first time I have applied for a loan, let alone a home loan, and I was more than green…literally no idea.
Previous to contacting Josie, I had been involved with another Broker, that was not overly communicative and unfortunately made some poor decisions.
From the first moment I called Josie, her patience and instant action made me feel more than confident she would do whatever she could for us.
I’m trying to stay away from cliches because Josie is so much more, but honestly she went above and beyond.
The path from that day onwards became more stressful due to finalising my father’s estate. Nevertheless, Josie was there by my side. Her calming nature and confidence in her knowledge always left me feeling focused and positive. Josie gave me the honesty of my situation, so I knew every step of the way where we are at and what was coming next.
I cried, I had lots of small to medium freak outs, and I feel like we kinda went through it all together. Best part was, we giggled and laughed too.
As a single mumma buying her first house at 42, it was not a quick process. Josie had my back for over 6 weeks, and we now have our forever house.
